Wigton Methodist Church is a lively church in the market town of Wigton with a heart for mission in the community. With members ranging from one to almost a hundred, boasting a breadth of theological beliefs, we are family held together by the love of, and a love for, Jesus Christ.
Our church believes that living out this love in the world is about knowing Jesus Christ as lord and saviour, growing deeper in our discipleship of him and going out in to the world to love others as he has loved us.
Small groups are an essential part of our church building on the Methodist history of the class meeting (more commonly called “cell church” today). One of our home groups also forms part of a church plant in the local community of Abbeytown.
We are part of the Wigton Methodist Circuit comprising chapels in Apsatria, Caldbeck and Silloth. The circuit sits within the Cumbria Methodist District and the wider Methodist Church.
